Diagnosis Before Parts
We find out what is actually causing a malfunction rather than swapping components and hoping. It is the difference between a repair that lasts and one that comes back.

Our Shop
A full-service gunsmith shop in Pahrump, Nevada, serving shooters, hunters, and collectors across Southern Nevada.
Custom Gunworks is a family owned gunsmith shop in Pahrump, Nevada. We opened with a simple idea: that a firearm brought in for work should leave functioning better than it arrived, and that the owner should understand exactly what was done and why.
Precision gunsmithing is unglamorous work. It is measuring, fitting, and testing, over and over, until a part seats the way the design intended. That patience is what separates a repair that holds up over a season from one that fails on the second outing, and it is the standard every project on our bench is held to.
Alongside modern rifles, shotguns, and handguns, a good share of our work is rooted in the western tradition that shaped this part of Nevada. Single action revolvers, lever guns, and coach guns come across the bench regularly, brought in by cowboy action competitors and by families who want an inherited firearm working and safe again. Those older designs demand a different kind of attention, and they are some of the most satisfying work we do.
Whether you shoot a full match season or take a rifle out once a year, the goal does not change: honest diagnosis, careful work, and a firearm you can rely on.

What We Do
One shop for repair, restoration, custom work, and optics, serving Pahrump, Las Vegas, Henderson, and the surrounding Southern Nevada communities.
Malfunctions get diagnosed rather than guessed at. We handle feeding, extraction, and ejection problems, worn and broken part replacement, trigger and safety service, deep cleaning, and inspection across rifles, shotguns, and handguns. Every repair is function tested before it is returned.
Personalized builds, machining, and stock work, plus Cerakote and refinishing that protects the metal underneath as well as it looks. We also handle sight installation and scope mounting so an optic is mounted square, torqued correctly, and ready to zero.
Services We Offer
We also handle firearm transfers where legally allowed. Transfers, regulated items, and the documentation they require are processed in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Contact the shop for current availability and what to bring.
Cowboy action shooting asks a lot of designs that are more than a century old, and it has grown into one of the most active disciplines in Southern Nevada. The firearms it runs on need to cycle smoothly and hold their timing stage after stage, and that takes work most general repair does not cover.
Desert conditions make it harder. Fine dust works its way into an action, and black powder shooters deal with fouling that can turn a smooth stroke gritty over a single weekend. Regular inspection is not fussiness out here, it is what keeps a match set running through a season.
Our cowboy action gunsmithing covers single action revolver timing, lockup, and action tuning; lever-action rifle smoothing and feed reliability work; and coach gun and side-by-side function and ejector service. Reliability sets the limit on how light an action goes, never the other way around.

Flexible Service
Not every job needs the firearm to sit in the shop for a week. Mobile and onsite service support may be available by appointment, depending on the service requested and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
What that looks like depends entirely on the work. Some services can be handled onsite; others have to be completed at the bench with the right fixtures and measuring tools in front of us. The only way to know is to talk it through, so call the shop, tell us what you need, and we will give you a straight answer about whether it is something we can support onsite.
Availability varies and is arranged case by case. Nothing is confirmed until we have discussed the specific service with you.

The Difference
What customers tell us keeps them coming back, and what we hold ourselves to on every job.
We find out what is actually causing a malfunction rather than swapping components and hoping. It is the difference between a repair that lasts and one that comes back.
You get a clear estimate and a realistic timeline at intake. If we find something unexpected once the firearm is apart, we call you before going further.
Inherited shotguns, discontinued revolvers, and reproduction lever guns are routine here. We will tell you honestly if parts availability is going to be the limiting factor.
Every firearm is cycled and checked before it goes back to you. Reliability is the standard the work is measured against, not how light a trigger can be made.
We are a local shop serving our own community. Most of our work comes from repeat customers and referrals across Pahrump and the Las Vegas valley.
Transfers, regulated items, and required documentation are handled in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, every time.
